Tina Aumont will co-star in Fellini’s Casanova
Tina Aumont, daughter of the late Maria Montez and Jean-Pierre Aumont, has been signed by director Federico Fellini to co-star with Donald Sutherland in his film of “Casanova”, currently filming at Cinecittà Studios in Rome.
Under the name of Tina Marquand, the French-born actress, then married to Christian Marquand, made her Hollywood debut in “Texas Across the River” with Dean Martin and Alain Delon.
She returned to Europe, where she had previously appeared in Joseph Losey’s “Modesty Blaise”, and became a star in French and Italian language films under her maiden name.
Miss Aumont will play a mysterious French girl, who is disguised as a man when Casanova first meets her and who vanished after a night of love.
“Casanova”, to be distributed in the united States and Canada by Universal, is Fellini’s first English language film. Also cast in principal roles in the movie, freely adapted from Casanova’s memoirs by Fellini and Bernandino Zapponi with English dialogue by Gore Vidal, are Margaret Clementi, Chesty Morgan, Cecil Brown, Harold Innocent, Claretta Algranti, Sandy Allen and Daniel Emil Fork.
